CORNHOLE FOR CHARITY

In 2019 we were proud to support local area resident Erin Jewell. Erin recently fell in her home and hit her head on her kitchen counter.  The fall resulted in severe trauma to her spine, including two fractures and dislocation of several other vertebrae.  After being sent to Chandler Regional Medical Center for trauma care Erin underwent two surgeries to help straighten and stabilize her spine. While these surgeries were successful, Erin is still experiencing some physical weakness (mostly on the right side). We are all very optimistic that with rehab she will make a full recovery and we are very excited to support her!

2018's Cornhole for was held in honor of Casteel High School's Colts Crew and Unified Sports Teams. The Colts Crew seeks to develop friendships, understanding and leadership development skills between students with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their non-disabled peers.  By combining students with and without disabilities on team sports, training and competition the Colts Crew can ensure all students can enjoy sports and represent their school.

In 2017, Inspire & Achieve was proud to help local elementary teacher Nicole Partusch.  Nicole had recently been diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer, and as a single mother, was experiencing severe financial strain with her mounting medical bills. With the support of our generous community, Inspire & Achieve was able to provide Nicole with funds to help alleviate her financial burden so that she could focus on her family and healing.

In 2016, the Inspire & Achieve Cornhole tournament was held in honor of a local five-year-old, Ellie. Ellie suffers from Type-1 diabetes, and her parents were looking for ways to offset the costs to purchase a Dexcom CGM (Continuous Glucose Monitor).    The event was a big success, and we're happy to report that due to her Dexcom CGM Ellie and her family can live their day to day lives with much more confidence and much less stress knowing Ellie’s health is constantly monitored.

The 2015 Inspire & Achieve Cornhole for Charity was organized to support community member and registered nurse Ashli Johnson.  Ashli's goal was to go on a medical mission to Peru to donate her time and skills to remote tribes and villages who have little or no access to healthcare. Organized through International Medical Relief, Ashli was able to use the funds raised at the Inspire & Achieve Cornhole for Charity to travel to Peru and provide desperately needed triage, obstetric and wound care in addition to assisting with essential dental care.
